Founded as National Teacher' College in Guiying,one of once eight National Teachers'Colleges in China. 

? 1950  

Renamed as Guiyang Teachers' College. 

? 1985  

Entitled as Guizhou Normal University.  

? 1986

Approved to grant Master Degree by the State Council Academic Degree Committee.

? 1996  

Honored as a provincial key university by People’s Government of Guizhou Province.  

? 2004  

Merged with Guizhou Vocational College of Technology.

? 2013

Approved to grant Doctor Degree by the State Council Academic Degree Committee.

? 2015  

Honored as a high-level university co-constructed by Ministry of Education of P.R.China and Guizhou Province.

? 2016

Starting the in-depth coopertion and the synergy innovation with Lanzhou University.

? 2017

Entering into the 'Overseas Expertise Introduction Project for Discipline Innovation' implemented by China's Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs as the first and currently the only institution in Guizhou Province.
